Metamorph Theatre began as a pipe dream by two Drama Centre graduates over a few pints, close to where they were studying. They wanted to create a theatre company that would help develop work that would make classics feel like modern plays and made modern plays become classics.

Inspired by other theatre companies like Complicite and the work of Mike Leigh they decided to work with writer Michael Ross on their first play ‘The Good Landlord’ which was created through multiple improvisations and workshops. Their triannual Picked and Mixed plays nights were an opportunity to help develop their own work from the ground up as well as showcasing the writing of others.

Now Metamorph have found their passion, which is to help writers develop their work into full length shows. They will continue to do their Picked and Mixed nights, alongside developing shows with exciting up-and-coming writers.
